Hero Round Table - Yarram

Welcome to Issue 0011

Another week and another Hero Round Table event is on the horizon! After the success of the Michigan event, we're excited to host another here in Yarram. We have a lineup of over 20 speakers including a hostage negotiator, a professional Dungeon Master, a LARPER, an AFL player, a circus performer, a firefighter, and a teacher who was kidnapped just to name a few. If this event is anything like our last one it'll be a day to inspire and motivate. If you want to come along tickets are available below. We hope to see you there!

As I'm sure many of you know we have another event coming up soon in San Francisco. We have solidified the dates to the following:Monday 13th: Phil Zimbardo's 90th Birthday. This will be a ticketed fundraising event capped at 100 people. We will announce when tickets go on sale here first. Tuesday 14th: HIP Summit. This will be an event for people working with HIP around the world to come and share progress. Wednesday and Thursday 15th and 16th: Hero Round Table San Francisco 2023. Everyone from the previous 2 events will be welcome to come.

Exciting future events aside, here is a look at a few of the people in our Yarram event lineup.

Steve York is a hostage negotiator who has helped to resolve over 400 critical situations. Steve has been working in the negotiation business for many years and has helped resolve conflicts around multiple issues, not just hostages. In the attached video he talks about the skills you need to become a better negotiator. Link Here

Jahin Tanvir is a TEDx speaker, CEO of the Australian School of Entrepreneurship, and Youth Advocate. As seen on multiple media platforms including The Drum and ABC News, Jahin is a leading speaker on diversity and inclusion, adaptive leadership, and youth entrepreneurship. He spoke at our Michigan event and we're excited to welcome him back for a second time in Yarram. You can check out his website Here

Cath Moore is an award-winning screenwriter whose work has been screened on ABC, SBS, and Channel 7. She has also written for sketch comedy, children's TV, documentary, and drama. She is a fantastic author that has been welcomed to Yarram before for Story Fest. You can check out her work at her website Here

Mark Eustice is an ex-AFL player who struggled with mental health and addiction problems. He now works as a speaker, trying to bring more awareness to the general public about these issues of self-worth and addiction. You can catch one of his previous talks Here

“Historically, the most terrible things—war, genocide, and slavery—have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience.”

Howard Zinn

Thanks for reading

As always thank you all for reading. The last month has been a whirlwind of work but we love doing what we do. Between the event in Michigan, the current one in Yarram, and several upcoming training sessions we've been going non-stop. There's nothing more gratifying than working hard at work worth doing. Thank you to all of our supporters and we hope to see you at one of our events soon!
