Welcome to Issue 0012

Planning for our March event in San Francisco has begun. All 4 days will be at the Marines Memorial Hotel between the 13th and 16th of March. The 13th will be Philip Zimbardo's Birthday Dinner and fundraiser, 14th a HIP Summit, and the 15th - 16th will be a Hero Round Table event. If you or anyone you know would like to speak on any of these days, or if you just want to come along, you can get in contact with us by responding to this email. Recruitment for speakers is kicking off now so it's a good time to recommend anyone you think has a message to share with our audience. Also if you do any work with HIP and want to share your work or just want to meet the crew this will be a fantastic opportunity to do just that. 

Starting Sunday the 4th of December at 1:30 PM (AEDT) we will be doing a live Q&A/podcast with Hero Round Table founder Matt Langdon and Board Secretary of the Heroic Imagination Project, Ari Kohen. Both are leaders in the fields of heroism and hero training, with over 40 years of experience between them. We will also have special guests as yet to be decided, to add to the discussion. Club Q shooting attack was ended by a dad and a show performer. The awful shooting at Club Q in Colorado gave rise to an amazing act of heroism. An ex-army father, and a performer, together subdued the shooter before he could cause further harm. Link Here

Prominent transgender rights activist Nayyab Ali provides community and safety for fellow Pakistanis. Nayyab Ali founded a school where transgender and third-gender communities can meet in safety. She also received the GALAS International Activist Award in Dublin for her work in transgender advocacy. Link Here

Iran players stay silent for anthem in support of protests. Not a single member of the Iranian team sang their country's anthem to distance themselves from their government. This comes as Ali Karimi, a former player and coach, called for Iranians to take to the streets over the heavy-handed use of the army in the Iranian Kurdish town of Mahabad. Link Here
