Welcome to Issue 0019
Hello everyone! We're working hard behind the scenes to make our three events in San Francisco this March go off without a hitch. The order of events will be Philip Zimbardo's 90th Birthday (13th), The Hero Round Table (14th and 15th), and lastly the HIP Summit (16th). Tickets are on sale on our website (Link at the bottom) so get them while they're hot! Also, keep your eyes out in the following weeks for social media posts discussing the speakers, workshops available on the day, breakdowns of each event, and more. Lastly, we will be launching a limited edition San Francisco shirt on our Redbubble store, which will be exclusively sold in the lead-up to this event. It'll be a week or two before the new design is out but you can check out our current designs at the link below.
Kids learn disaster preparedness through the 'Be a Hero event.' This is a great example of using your heroic imagination. Practicing your heroic imagination allows you to clearly and calmly think through a risky/dangerous situation, during a time of non-danger. This leads to a more thought-out response and a far smaller chance of in-action when a situation like this does arise. Full article Here
Heroic little girl saves toddler from drowning. A 7-year-old Perth girl jumped into a pool to save a toddler that had slipped in. She acted without hesitation to save the toddler, with her years of swimming lessons giving her the confidence she needed. Full article Here
Terry Ingram saves the lives of 3 men from overturned car in icy pond. A Nebraska man, Terry Ingram, is being celebrated as a hero for his quick thinking and bravery in saving the lives of three men whose car had landed upside down in an icy pond. The incident occurred in Bellevue, Nebraska while Ingram was out taking pictures of eagles. He saw a white sedan lose control while crossing railroad tracks. It struck a fire hydrant, then landed upside down in the ice-cold pond. Full article Here
A New York man who broke into a school to shelter more than 20 people from a deadly blizzard is hailed a hero. Jay Withey, a mechanic from the town of Cheektowaga NY, was recognized for his heroic actions during a deadly blizzard in December. When he found himself among the many people trapped in their cars by the blizzard, Jake Whitney gathered as many people as he could together and broke into a local school to take shelter.
