In this week's newsletter, we're excited to spotlight the HIP Hero Club! The HIP Hero Club is the youth-led, youth-organized branch of the Heroic Imagination Project, aiming to teach heroic ideals to the leaders of tomorrow. The curriculum was developed by our esteemed board member, Zoe Huml, during her final year of school. Here's an introduction from Zoe on the HIP Hero Club:

Zoe Huml: HIP Hero Club

The HIP Hero Club’s mission is to utilize powerful social psychology findings to equip students with the knowledge and tools to act heroically.

Why We Need HIP Hero Club

Today, youth are feeling powerless in the face of daunting global challenges. The information that students are bombarded with daily on social media delivers an implicit message: the challenges society faces are so large, and you are so small in comparison. This fosters hopelessness and overwhelm.

At HIP, however, we’ve seen how each heroic action, no matter how small, produces a ripple effect, and together, these actions create significant social impacts. Through heroism training, students are able to recognize their personal potential to create meaningful positive change.

What we offer: HIP Hero ‘Club in a Box’

The HIP Hero Club provides motivated teachers and students with a three-phase, twelve-session ‘Club in a Box,’ which includes everything a club leader could need to start and lead their club: detailed leader notes, slideshows, videos, discussion starters, and activities.

Our Impact

During the 2022/23 school year, the HIP Hero Club curriculum was beta-tested in six countries spanning three continents and ultimately received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
